N.C.C. Activities at a glance in S. M. College Campus
The Installation of the N.C.C. Section at S.M. College is almost as old as the establishment of the college itself. It has been controlled by dedicated N.C.C. (Honorary Teacher Officers who rose to the height of Captain. Under the dynamic leadership of Professors like Dr. A. Mukherjee (Ex. Principal), Dr. Gayatri Devi, Deptt. of Hindi, Prof.(Dr.) Meena Rani and Prof.(Dr.) Archna (The Present Principal) and many other ANOS like Dr. Vimla Arya, Smt. Renu Sinha and Dr. Manorma Singh( Present ANO).
S.M. College has honour to produce a cluster of smart and dashing cadets who participated in various National and International N.C.C. Activities. For years they have been representing the college in the Republic Day parade and winning medals from Hon’ble President and Prime Minister of India.
Our cadets brought great honour for T.M.B. University Bhagalpur by successfully completing the dangerous Trekking and mountaineering Expeditions and in All India Parachute Jump Training at Agra (U.P.) and performed selfless services during calamities like flood, earthquake, etc.
Besides adventurous activities several of our cadets have been selected and sent to foreign countries like U.K. , Canada , Australia ,Sri Lanka , Bangladesh , Bhutan , etc. under the N.C.C. youth Exchange programme. Miss Sharda Gurung, Jyotsana Chhabra, Shanta De, Miss Preeti Dubey, Miss Tanushree Mukharjee (currently) attended the above said N.C.C. activities and brought laurels for the college and T.M.B University, Bhagalpur. In the recently concluded a week long “World Yoga Day”, N.C.C. camp, held at S.M.College, Bhagalpur from 13.06.15 to 22.06.2015 several outstanding cadets like Swati Suravi, Tanushree Mukherjee, Priyanka Kumari, Neha Bharti and others dominated the Camp Competitions and won a series of awards in activities like- Yoga, Parade, Debate, Rangoli and Cultural programmes. We have a strong unit of 100 Cadets who are ever ready to dedicate for social Services.
Our Ex. Cadets have joined Indian Army and Navy Services and Railways by virtue of their excellent personal performance. The future of N.C.C. in S.M, College is very bright as hundreds of cadets join it playfully. They follow ideal mission of making Indiagreat.
