Our students participate quite often in the NSS, NCC and sports (Indoor/Outdoor). The students are involved in execution tour, tree plantation, cleaning drive, Adult education, flood relief etc.

35. SWOC analysis of the department and Future plans:

STRENGTH:

1. The greatest strength of the Botany Department is the academic capability of the faculty members.

2. Sufficient space well ventilated and lighted laboratory rooms are available.

WEAKNESSES:

1. Mushrooming of private coaching centers are very close surrounding to college campus.

2. Distance of university office campus from college.

3 Lack of sufficient space to horizontal expansion of the department.

4 Lack of ground area for botanical garden. Thus have compulsion to purchase experimental specimen(plant materials) from outside.

5 Lack of required numbers of teaching, staff, peons, and lab technician.

6 Lack of class rooms as per required.

OPPORTUNITIES:

  1. Bright prospect for research and development.

Bright future to select the area of agriculture, medical, bio-technology, bio-informatics, micro-biology, forestry, bio-engineering, ethano- botany, plant pathology, plant breeding and environmental scientist.

CHALLENGES:

  1. Inconsistency in the work culture due to creation of vacancies by retiring staffs of teaching as well as non teaching.

Overload to the existing teachers.
